This month I participated in the Foodie Penpal exchange for the first time, and it was great fun! Once a month Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean pulls together over a thousand participants to exchange packages of food goodies around the United States and Canada. Bloggers and blog readers can participate, so visit her site if you’re interested.
I received a package from Sarah Morgan in Pennsylvania, and she sent me all kinds of tasty goodies. I received Valentine’s Butterfinger and Crunch Chocolate Hearts (not too many left in this photo because my brother and I ate those pretty quickly), Marzipan covered in Dark Chocolate, Starbucks Italian Roast Via Coffee (wonderful for my travels!), Sharwood’s Korma Sauce, Evelyn’s Elegant Edibles’ Popie’s Pine Nut Basil Rice Mix and Gil’s Gourmet Green Olive Tapenade.
I looked into Evelyn’s Elegant Edibles since that was a local product from Pennsylvania. The owner is from a large Greek family and the products are centered around her Yiayia’s (Greek grandmother’s) recipes. One of my dearest friends moved to Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago and he is Greek. I wrote him with this tasty food news immediately! I hope to go up and visit him soon and shop around for more of these great products myself.
I can’t wait to try all the other goodies in this bundle of yumminess. A giant, warm thank you to Sarah for all the good stuff.

What a fun idea! Not sure how it works, but a foodie pen pal sounds like the best kind of pen pal!
